Generally disjointed.
Factual but not entertaining.
Main ride (boats) was broken for half the day and poor when we finally got on.
Too many plays, not enough interactive activities.
Sort of enjoyed parts of it but generally we felt it was too preachy and not entertaining enough. No obvious start to the experience, you just get thrown into a dark room (in our case through a no entry door as we had a pushchair) and left to find your bearings. I was expecting more than one main room. The boat ride would be a lot better with more displays and sound effects along the route. It's currently very sparce with long sections that are just plain boring. I would have been really disappointed had I have had to queue for and hour to do the ride - luckily there were few people around today. The animatronics and effects were clever but the story line dull, dull, dull. Three of my party fell asleep and 2 (adults) ended up arm wrestling to relieve the boredom! The restaurant was also disappointing. We ate lunch early (12 noon). There were no menus, food labels or prices, just cutlery and dishes behind a counter. The food was luke warm and the plates cold. It was also expensive for what we got. I would have done better to order a childrens portion as it would have been better value. Drinks (other than kiddie drinks) have to be bought separately from the bar next door. The staff were nice but should remain in character at all times else the illusion is spoiled.
A very expensive and disappointing day. Dickens world has a lot of potential but currently fails to impress.
