Very reliable system
Clear sound
No distortion
Good bass sound
Has many features of much more expensive systems
Comes with no dedicated subwoofer
Satalite speakers could be better
CD changer noisy and slow when changing a disk
Very messy wires as there are lots
No optical or coaxil inputs
I have had the Technics SCDV290 system for nearly 2 and a half years now and it works as good as the day I bought it. It is very powerful for its size many new mini systems have louder sound but most of them distort at loud volumes , however this Technics system never distorts it is always a clear enjoyable sound. The bass sound is nice and deep with a digital boost feature and there's a subwoofer out input in the back but i feel technics could of included an external subwoofer or an optional model with another subwoofer for the back. But don't get me wrong this is a very good system I think it has set very high standards for the mini system market it has a very sturdy build quality (apart from the multi jog) the speakers are nice and big made out of wood unlike many other systems with speakers with a plastic feel to them. This system rivals any mini system on the market today its a shame this is the last mini system technics have made :(
I think it could of included a optical or coaxil input in the back rather than just an AUX input and the multi jog feels a bit fragile the amplifier can get hot at times but has always performed well for me in any house temperature. The surround sound is very good , but i think the rear satellites could perform better at times , and there are lots of wires that can get tangled very easy , the cd changer is noisy and slow but overall getting to the point if you have the money for this system , buy it :) it will out live any other mini system on the market and whats the point in buying a loud system with a cheap subwoofer in a plastic case and have it break down in no time when you could by this beast and know that it has lasted me nearly 3 years performed like a much more expensive system and hasnt gave me a single problem , thanks for reading - ben
