Good Value for money,
Clean,
The Rafters club is mainly for children, and loud.
We arrived at the St Ives Holiday Village at around 11:30am After a long 8hr drive and were handed the keys straight away, which was a plus. The outside of the chalet is not very appealing, it looks old and outdated, IT could do with a touch up.
As soon as we set foot in the chalet we were scouting around for all the problems previous reviewers said and was pleasantly suprised that it was very clean. There was a hint of damp smell in the air but as soon as we put on the electric heaters it went away... The chalet was decked out in wooden slates everywhere inside the chalet to give it the old log cabin feel... The only problem I could say about the inside of the chalet is that the shower is rubbish as it very slow and the deco of the chairs and curtains. Apart from that it is a nice place to stay in, It is very basic so you get what you paid for... We only wanted the chalet for somewhere to sleep as we were out most of the day... However this may be different for other people who stayed in a bronze or silver chalet as the chalets arent doubled glazed so the damp is going to be worse... The deco is also not as up to date as the Gold chalets, So I recommend staying in a gold chalet.
The park is situated in a 100 acre woodland, When you wake up in the morning you have wild rabbits outside your door..The park is suitable for pets, and there is a small childrens play area near the club..You have a bus stop inside the park so you can visted other towns nearby. The park is fairly clean but could do with some flowers to brighten it up.
The club is great for younger children, The bingo isnt as good, and its a bit too loud. For teenagers there is a entertainment room with two pool tables and arcade games there is also a wifi part and PC you pay to use.
The swimming pool is basic but then again you get what you paid for..There is no lockers which is a downside.
I was very happy with my stay, I agree with another reviewer that the bad reviews are a bit exsagerated, but like I said before the bronze/silver chalets arent as good and most of the bad reviews are from people who stayed in the bronze/silver chalets, so I strongly recommend that you stay in the gold chalets.
