Compared to other flashlights from outdoor stores it's a bargain.
AA batteries are easier to find and cheaper than special batteries.
3 watt output is nice and bright.
Adjustable flood and spot beams are nice to have.
Has seals to protect from dust and water.
It costs under $23.
Same flashlight they have sold forever now with a led ( not so sure thats a bad thing ).
Battery consumption is higher, but that should be expected with a 3w led.
You would be hard pressed to find a avid outdoor or hunting person that doesn't own at least 1 Maglite. They are reliable and hold up to lots of abuse, I have 2 others a 2D and a 5D the 5D I've owned for about 15 years and never had a problem ( other than bulbs found almost anywhere ). People can argue as to their dated design but I would bet this or any other Maglite will be around long after the other fancy looking ones are in the garbage.
