Terrible experience flying Helsinki to Osaka. Finnair seems to be a very low quality airline. Both staff and crew were unprofessional at best, including the captain who seemed barely capable to communicate in English (must be the only Finn).
To make a long story short we took off with a 5+ hour delay, including waiting 2 and a half hours inside the plane. One of the emergency exits refused to close and several technical people were trying to fix the problem on the spot. Not for the faint of heart, they dismantled the whole door and struggled with the thing for two hours through a brute force approach (using a hammer!). People were joking and taking photographs so amazing their technical skills were. During that time nobody gave us any real information. When asked the crew or the technical staff they kept saying that it was going to take just one hour, despite the fact that they muttered that same sentence two hours ago.
Finally we managed to took off and even land in Osaka 8.30 hours later. You know what? In all that time no one, not even a single time, apologized for the inconveniences.
