Good Points

Majority of the staff were polite and spoke good English, the cleaners were brilliant, top deck swimming pool was chlorinated and cleaned every day as well as the jacuzzi, lots of hot water and a 5 minute walk to the beach.

Bad Points

As soon as you walk into the hotel it looked nice but I thought the smell was awful. As we walked to our room the carpet was damp and instead of ripping up the carpet and putting a new one down they have left it and it smelt like mould to me. The indoor pool wasn't working, was placed in the wrong room and a few of the staff came across to me as rude and unhelpful.

General Comments

Myself and fiancee went B&B to the Crown Hotel. On arrival to the crown hotel, the general look of it was nice. We were greeted by a member of staff who booked us in. I thought the hotel generally smelt like mould and dampness. Although the cleaners were fabulous and polite no matter how much cleaning they did I found the smell still was unbearable. Our room was on the ground floor in a dark corner. The sheets were clean on the bed however on inspection of the bathroom the toilet seat was broken, there was mould in the shower and fibre glass falling from the ceiling and to me the air con smelt like eggs. The indoor swimming pool was closed and had yellow tape around it, and in between each room there was yellow tape making it look extremely unattractive to me. The Hair dryer in the bathroom got so hot that it burnt my hand. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi was brilliant and was open till midnight every night. They had plenty of alcohol and beach umbrellas and more than enough sun loungers. I thought the food was terrible and we ended up going elsewhere for breakfast everyday.
We met 3 english couples during our stay and one of which told us about the room they were first put in on their arrival, 3 days prior to us arriving and described the state of their hotel room. They complained for 2 days and eventually got moved. When asking them which room they were in, we found out that it was ours and as they were going to be there for 14 days and us 10 days then that would of left us in another room. The key point however was all the complaints the couple had made about the state of the room had seemingly not been put right, leaving myself and partner with the same problem. Further more the lady of the couple got food poisoning and spent a day in hospital to get rehydrated via IV access.
My fiancee got very burnt and had second degree sunburn on his shoulders, (thats after factor 40!!) when asking how much a doctor call out fee was, the receptionists said he didn't know and was not inclined to help me. I had to ask for help at the local corner shop. My partner also needed to spend a day in hospital.
My partner is extremely angry and upset for the way we were treated in general. For a 4 star hotel I thought it was disgusting. The only reason I believe it's rated as that is because of the air con. We plead and beg for people to stay away and find somewhere else to stay.
