Does not have a non rotating extractor although this is of little consequence to reliability of the action. I own two 700's and have yet to have the case head pulled off, or any failure to extract. I do find small shavings of brass occasionally around the bolt face, but nothing I can't remove with a toothbrush.
Heavy! It was designed to be heavy to give it stability in turn allowing more accurate long distance shots. If you want a light rifle, get yourself a 700 BDL sporter to carry around. This rifle is very nice to look at. I get laughed at by some for valuing aesthetics when it comes to firearms, But... it's darn good looking! The laminated wood is a big part of this aesthetics thing. Wood feels good in all different temperatures. I have picked up some black synthetic stocked guns on a hot day, and .. well.... I like to handle a gun when I need to, not fry an egg. Very good quality, and nice feel. These two go hand in hand. You can feel the quality when you handle it. Well designed for its purpose.
