Good Points

Brilliant all round, good sound and build quality, excellent interface and good overall features. Battery life good and charge time is surprisingly low. Good list of apps to download for it (iPhone apps work too!) and the ability to use iTunes store from the player itself (without the need for a computer)

Bad Points

non-customizable EQ settings (i.e. frequency bands not editable) but the presets are adequate.
Having to charge using a powered USB connection.
Lack of flash player support for safari internet browser.
Screen gets grubby and the mirror finish on the reverse side seems to be susceptible to scratches.

General Comments

I bought the Apple iPod Touch 8gb to replace my existing mp3/mp4 player (Archos 604) when it finally died. I was at first sceptical about the price and the value I would receive for such a large price tag (around the 200 pound mark). Although it has about 22gb less storage than my last player (30gb) it more than makes up for in features. The GUI (graphical User Interface) is clean and easy to use and to the contrary of popular belief the onscreen keyboard is very easy to use. The wireless connection is very good and the onscreen setup for this is quick and simple.

One of my concerns with this player (as it is with any Apple device) is the use of iTunes, but my experience has been good and I have never encountered a problem.

I would recommend this player to anyone although I would suggest buying a case of some sort for it as the reverse side seems to scratch easily moreover would you like to break a 200 pound mp3 player? I for one wouldn't.

Overall an excellent replacement for my last player. Highly recommended.
