General Comments

I bought the Alba DVD player from Asda last christmas. It has played many region 1 and 2 DVD`s, up until recently that is.. We borrowed a DVD bought from play247.com, it was `A Knight`s Tale` and was region 1... the machine didn`t like it... so maybe that is the end of the road for this machine ?

    Just a quick note for the person who wrote the review about 'A Knights Tale' There's nothing wrong with their dvd player, that film has RCE (regional coding enhancement) embedded in the disc, which means the dvd can tell whether your machine has been hacked or came as standard on multi-region.

    Some machines that have been hacked do work on RCE films, but from what i've seen , the slightly cheaper models don't accept Region 1's with RCE on them..fortunately it's not a common thing on dvd's so far, but who knows? Hope this was helpful to you!
