Polite Staff - that's it.
I experienced poor hygiene, bad value for money, loud annoying kids shouting everywhere (parents don't seem to notice!) and tables that were laid with the bare minimum - just a PAPER napkin and knife and Fork - nice.
Recently my mum, sister and I decided to go to Harvester as it was close by and therefore pretty convenient. It was a Sunday evening and so we thought there would be available tables - wrong! It was packed and we had to wait in the bar.
AMBIENCE-
When we were finally called to our table we were disappointed to see it was awkwardly placed opposite a wall (great view) and next to 2 huge parties with lots of noisy kids. Our tableware consisted of a paper napkin each and knife and fork, hence no confectionery or mats etc. Waiter was very apologetic but they were very busy.
PRICES-
I thought the prices were also pretty steep considering the quality of the food served. I can definitely think of better places to go. A combine Harvester was approx £10 with a lot of chips to help fill you up!
HYGIENE -
Looking around our table and the salad bar there appeared to be food on the floor. At one point a chef filled up some of the salad and had a filthy apron on, which made me wonder what was the kitchen was like? Oh and my sisters arm kept sticking to our table so we cleaned it ourselves with the one paper napkin available.
STAFF-
Polite and very hard-working. They were the best thing about the restaurant.
SUMMARY-
To sum it up the food was ok, I thought the restaurant appeared a mess and it was full of noisy kids - we will never visit again. What a let down as we used to love going to Harvester.
