I bought this pushchair at the beginning of January 2007 for my daughter who was born at the end of that month. As I purchased this pram online with the car seat to match I was very excited when all the boxes arrived at my mum and dad's house, where my dad built the pram up.
When I first saw the pram I was delighted, but later panicked when I had a go at changing it to a buggy. The harness did not look safe to me at all - in fact I was convinced there was something wrong with it, as on the website the photo of the pram showed the harness right up the back of the pushchair where you would expect it to be. My mum emailed Mamas and Papas to ask about it and I still haven't received a reply yet over a year and a half later. I later discovered in the instructions a passage explaining the point of this free-roaming harness. Even to this day I'm not happy with the harness and my daughter is now 18 months old. I always thought it looked uncomfortable but I had assumed that it would redeem itself when my daughter was older and wanting to move about more. Recently I was at a friend's and had left my daughter in her pushchair in her lounge while we made tea in the kitchen. This was literally for 5 minutes and by the time we got back to the lounge she had managed to wriggle free of the harness and was walking about the living room. I am aware that mamas and papas write on everything that my child's safety is my responsibility (which is why I haven't complained) but I feel that for a child to be able to get out of her pushchair in under 5 minutes when she is strapped in is ridiculous - and this has never happened in any of my other pushchairs where the harness is fixed.
I also think the brakes are terrible. I find them fine if the pram is indoors on wooden flooring for example but on a bus or uneven surface they don't seem to stay on for any more than 30 seconds.
I also struggle at folding it with one hand.
