Safe to use. Struggle to think of anything else.
Battery life is very poor. It struggles to cut through anything larger than 4". Even with smaller diameter it struggles as the branches tend to be fairly 'floppy' at this size and simple vibrate away from the chain.
Don't be fooled into thinking this Black & Decker GKC1817-GB Cordless Chainsaw is a useful tool. My loppers are far better at cutting 2" stuff. For cutting firewood the saw struggles as chances are that you'll be cutting 3"-4" stuff. It gets through - just - but battery life is hopeless.
