Delayed flights
Night flights to and from our destination of Gran Canaria were delayed. We should have arrived in our resort at 4am, which would have given us a few hours sleep. Instead we arrived at 6.30am. We were told of the delay on checking in which was due to 'a knock on effect of earlier flights'.
Same thing on the return flight. Had to check out of the hotel at 12pm when not being picked up until 01.45am. We booked the shower room but were only allowed 15 minutes, regardless of party size. We were unable to extend the room as hotel was fully booked. The hotel had no entertainment on and therefore closed the pool/outside seating area, leaving a small bar area for 5 coach loads of guests to sit!
On arrival at airport, we asked a rep if the flight was on time to be told, no delays at all. ALL flights were delayed! Our 4.10am flight turned into a 5am departure. What a long day.
Never again will we succumb to the night flights are ok assumption.
On another note, the plane was so cramped, that I could not stretch my legs under the chair in front, something I am always able to do. We were bombarded with meals, bar and duty free and no sooner were you dropping off to sleep, another announcement selling something else was made!!
