Bad Points

Very bad customer service.
Customer service operators are ignorant about their organisational procedures.
Disjointed departments, same requests is repeated by two departments .
Requests take ages to fulfil


General Comments

The UK HSBC banking experience has been a disappointment all around. I have had the misfortune of having to interact with their staff on three occasions. All three were unmitigated disasters.
Travellers checks - Their own travellers checks they took 5 working days to credit to my HSBC account. Whereas Halifax did it in two days.
Lost my check book, informed them asking them specifically not to resend new the one as I was moving house and had no way of getting it. Guess what they did. When I called to request for a new book, they wanted know why I was loosing my things (not just the check book) so frequently
Credit card application, currently they are processing my credit card application. It has taken about month and a half so far. Every week they send me a letter asking to call them, when I call they want to verify my name or ask me to send some document or the other.
