Good Points

They were the cheapest company who would also insure my partner on the car: but they still were not cheap.


Bad Points

Customer service, and just not doing what they are supposed to.


General Comments

I switched to NU as my previous insurer would not put my partner on policy. A few weeks later, a third party colided with the side of my car, but admitted liability. I tried to report the accident, but NU would not take the details as they said they had no record of me on their system. Several more calls, and I managed to report it. Have taken car to their approved repairer, and booked it in. But, am asked to pay excess when car is dropped off, not when work completed. I don't see why I should as the third party admitted liability. I phoned them today, and discovered they have not even contacted the third party. The excuse was that they have not allocated a handler yet, and probably will not until next week. I've complained twice, but nothing seems able to kick them into action. I know full well that if I get the car fixed before the third party's insurance company inspect it, they will not pay up, but that is the scenario NU are setting me up for. The people you speak to on the phone simply don't care what you say to them. Possibly the worst customer service I've ever encountered.
