Good Points

Pretty good coffee with nice crema. Our machine is in regular use, however there is one big BUT...


Bad Points

The steamer (frother) function fails. Searches will reveal many refernces to this problem. Although, like others, my unit was replaced under warranty, it failed again shortly afterwards. There is a work-around involving 'flicking' the coffee 'pour' swich to kick the pump motor on for a couple of seconds to prime the steam circuit, but it's a bit of a pain.


General Comments

Eventually, after taking the Briel Versatile coffee machine apart (several times) I located the problem (with the electronic circuit board) and arranged repairs myself. Although the maker works okay now I have been put off Briel and would not buy another of their products.
