I love my German Shepherd Dog to pieces.. I have been brought up by them most of my life and I know that my dog would do anything for me, as well as being loyal is he great with kids (especially the neighbour's) even for his size. Although, he can be very hyper and attacks anything mechanical that moves (cars, forklifts, bikes) in which he has already been hit..
But I would always have a GSD, and hopefully will bring my kids up around these superb dogs.
