Good Points

Very accurate. General wisdom among 10m AP shooters is that you don't need to worry about the IZH holding you back until you reach at least 560/600. I tend to share this opinion. When I deliver a shot with good technique, the pellet always end up where it is supposed to be. Any wide flier is definitely cause by me. Although shooters have shot 57x with it, it is still hard to gauge the true potential of the Izzy simply because most shooters switch to PCP guns that are usually several times more expensive when they reaches a certain point. If you are on a budgets, this gun is a perfect way to enter the Olympic style AP sport.

The gun comes with extra seals, and front and rear sight inserts (3 front sight widths and 4 rear notch widths for a total of 12 combinations).

Bad Points

The only real downside of this gun for me is the nose-heavy balance. Some people like it. I wish they still have the lighter non-M version in production, whose center of gravity is closer to the rear due to the shorter air pump.

General Comments

Paid $350 new for it, I cannot complain about the IZH as an excellent target air pistol. The enjoyment and possibilities that the gun brings is certainly worth more than its price. The following remarks are just some tips and observations from me, and are not meant to detract from the quality of the gun.

There are some machine marks, asymmetries and rough edges in parts, as expected from the lower price (and Russian workmanship?). Although such imperfections usually don't prevent the gun from being functional, you should check the gun when you first get it to make sure everything is working correctly. For example, the screw that secures the rear sight assembly on my gun was loose when it came, which caused some grief when I tried to zero in the elevation adjustment during the first several weeks. Tightening the screw solved the problem.

The screwdriver tool that comes with the gun is too soft. I would recommend buying a good set of gunsmith screwdrivers to avoid stripping the screw heads.

The grip needs heavy work to fit most shooters hand. I would happily pay $50-100 for the gun if it came with a more anatomic grip. But I suppose whittling down the grip will be a beneficial experience that will teach me more about the anatomy of shooting.
