Good Points

Inexpensive to buy (findable for less than 50$ on ebay).
Inexpensive to run (9v only).
Small unit that easily fits anywhere.

Bad Points

Not "whisper quiet", it does make some noise but not more than a typical computer so it's not so bad.

General Comments

Back here in Quebec humidity is a terrible a problem during summer (80% to 95% during the whole season), so something obviously needed to be done. The answer was the Eva-Dry EDV1100.

Big units with a compressor are very expensive to buy and then to run (high power consuming) and the unit is becoming so hot that it also increases the temperature of it's environment (which is really not needed in our summers).

I first bought two of them, one for my bedroom and one for my study. Results were very promising, it needed to be emptied every two days, which means it worked faster than I thought. And soon after I started to sleep way better.

I know have one in every room since it's not big enough to hold more than one middle-size room. But if you live in a flat with one running continuously in every room, it really is a huge and affordable improvement.
