Good Points

The menu looks very promising. Nice to have aircon, trendy decor and furnishings. Bread sticks were tasty.


Bad Points

I found the staff to be argumentative. One meal for our party of 7 was served 20 minutes after everyone else's. £15.95 for a cod dish which the waiter told us was made with frozen cod. Duck dish very overcooked and in a revolting sauce. One steak dish underdone and in way too much sauce. No vegetable accompaniments given with main meals. I thought it was very expensive for this quality of food and size of portions.


General Comments

I'm not surprised this place was three quarters empty at 8pm on a Saturday night. I thought the food was pretty awful; the cod dish was overloaded with parmesan, the duck was terribly overcooked and in a horrible sauce, one steak dish was underdone and all portions very small with no accompanying vegetables. One of our party had their dish served 20 minutes after everyone else and when we complained, the staff seemed extremely argumentative with us. We had the front table by the window so everyone else in the place witnessed such terrible customer service. Even the caffe latte was just above cold, and we were very surprised to be told that a £15.95 cod dish was made with frozen cod. Would not recommend.

    sorry, i think you may have caught them on a bad day or are being picky. I eat there all the time and have never had a problem with any aspect of Four. this is the finest restaurant for miles not just their menu but also the surroundings and most of all the service.
