Bad Points

The seat is very heavy without the baby sat in it making trips to and from the car difficult. I also had to complain to Mamas and Papas on two separate occasions as parts kept on coming off the seat and the material was fraying after 3 weeks of use. They did not seem apologetic and would not replace the seat, I had to wait a week for a replacement hood, which was impractical for me when it was the middle of the summer.


General Comments

We bought the car seat with the Skate Pram and Surefix base. The seat was very easy to use with these products. I liked the way you can extend the seat belt as it makes putting my baby into the seat much easier. I also used the 'head hugger' for the first month of having my newborn, this stopped her head from slanting to one side.

Seat looks good and works well with the Skate pram - but not ideal. If it weren't for the pram I would have returned the seat

    i have just bought the skate and along with it the new tri fix car seat. as you stated i went and also bought the head hugger from mamas and papas to put in the seat. did it work for you?

    how do you find the manoeuvrability on the skate?

    p.s my car seat is in a black bubbles fabric so i bought the pebble head hugger for my newborn.

    Yes the head hugger was worth buying. I used it for approx 6 weeks however my Sister used hers for around 4 months with my niece.

    The Skate is excellent, it makes trips to the shops enjoyable and easy! Also as I seem to be the only person in my area with the pram, I get a lot of admiring glances!

    sounds fantastic, it's such a new pram i have only ever seen 1 woman with it once! i love it too, thanks for the extra info on the skate. The car seat however, is a shame... the adjustable head hugger in pebble from mamas&papas really does the trick like you said... i have a feeling my little one will be using it for 3-4 months like your niece did!

    Thank heavens for chat blogs like these i would have never known what to do! anyways I'd love to be kept up to date with how your skate and car seat and of course your little one is doing... will be nice to keep in contact about these things as many people are STUCK when it comes to choosing a pram and car seat.
