In order to collect our Settee we had to borrow a van drive over 54 miles round trip, only to find the self assembly seemed like a joke.
We have always loved Ikea up till our last purchase we always enjoyed the experience, best to buy things that you can carry home never had a problem until we bought a Karlstrad 2 seater settee.
Although the brochure said self assembly, I would never have imagined that we had to build it up from scratch. In the settee there were no instructions, after making a frantic phone call to ask where are the instructions, to be told they were in with the covers, seperate box. From then on we were dissapointed with the construction and finish, it didn't give us the impression it was sturdy and going to last. The last resort was one of the arms was unable to be bolted to the body of the settee because a thread/screw was missing. We took the opportunity to take it back for a full refund yet again borrow the Van for another 56 mile round trip. It has left us with a bitter taste.
