Good Points

Lots for children of all ages.
Queue jumpers were dealt with.
KFC quick service despite big queues.
Water fountain splash area a big hit with the kids on such a hot day.


Bad Points

90 minute queue for Dragons fury with lots of cars going off with just 2 in.
Tomb blaster broke down after we had queued half an hour.
Bash street bus ride not open.


General Comments

Visited sun 27/7 - After an awful visit a few years ago which was so busy we only got onto a couple of rides we reluctantly gave into our 9 yr old's requests to visit again with our 4 yr old in tow too. It was a baking hot day and we thought this would result in huge queues but generally it was not too bad except the big ones like Dragon's fury which we queued for an hour and a half.
Having been to Orlando several time including Apri this year I feel that Chessington like other UK parks have a lot to learn. Anyone who has been to disney will tell you that they have staff going through the queue calling out for people to fill spaces so each car is full thus reducing wait times. Although they sort of tried this on dragons fury -apparently each car can only take 2 adults - they only ask for 2 kids in immediate queue at the front so as not to hold up the cars. Surely common sense would show that if one of the many staff on that ride was organising people in the queues into 4's before they get to the front of the queue they could drastically reduce wait times. I generally was much impressed with Chessington and will definately return but feel huge improvements could be made by getting someone witha bit of OOMPH in to make some changes and gee up the staff - a bit of moral boosting goes a long way. The badger could make this good park a fantstic one.
