Good Points

Economical, Resonably quick, roomy for it's size.


General Comments

Not a reliable car had 4 nissans in the family before a Primera and 3 older Micras they've been OK - disappointed with this one are Nissan going down hill? Having trouble with the door locks, drivers door lock replaced twice, passenger door lock once. They keep making a loud screeching noise. Had a new oxygen sensor (whatever that is) fitted. Only had it twelve months all above done under warranty.

    I have the same screeching sound when locking the doors (coming from the driver's side). Nice to know I'm not the only one. -- I'll be phoning the dealer shortly. -- other than that I love the car.

    I've just bought a Micra and am having the same trouble with the noisy door locking. Any idea what the cause is and how much to put right?

    my micra locked me out of the car with the engine running and keys in the ignition and had to find spare key prise off door handle cover overide lock before going to work one hour later now have the only micra what did 20 mpg that day

    to nickenedmonton - had my 3 repairs (drivers door twice, passenger door once) done by Nissan dealer, under warranty. Door lock is a sealed unit, cannot fix or oil. Only answer is to replace it, relatively easy if u can DIY a bit, suggest u buy a new lock unit and replace old one yourself. Main dealer v. expensive wanted £360 for a basic Micra service, havin' a laugh or what!!

    I finally took my Nissan to the dealer to correct the screeching door locking problem. They said it was the actuator and they were able to fix it while I waited (about 40 minutes). The problem was covered under warranty as the car is still under 3 years old so I don't know how much it would have cost otherwise. Karen
