Some other LG products have been good...Tromm front load washer and dryer, 42" plasma TV, cell phones.

LG dishwashers are possibly the worst ever made, and service technicians provided are headquartered over 100 miles away.

Bought the LG 7811 model in August 2005, (top of the line at Home Depot) and it basically worked until March of 2008, when after each 2 HR cycle the detergent cup still had between 20% and 70% spread between still in the cup, streaking down the inside of the door, and accumulated in the bottom ....dishes obviously are not clean since A. the detergent never fully disolved and did its job and B. the rinse cycle could not have possibly been effective with granulated detergent still present ...
Any logical person would deduct that the door on the dispenser had not opened until the end of the cycle, but in 5 seperate visits from The Appliance Doctor of Ladson, virtually every component was replaced under our 5 year extended warranty. This included the main pump and motor, the alternating motor which controls which arm is active, (top or bottom) the printed circuit control board, and a few other minor parts, but never the actual plastic detergent cup dispenser. At the insistence of the supposed authorized servich technician we discarded a large carton of Sam's Club detergent, which he said was no good, replaced it with Cascade, then after that product yielded the exact same result we were told to switch to the little pillow shaped packets marketed by several companies. Another tech said we shouls switch to liquid ... calls to the LG tech center resulted in insulting comments from the help desk persons, and finally Home Depot (the good guys in this awful ordeal) agreed to replace our unit at no cost .... the brand new unit was installed on Friday afternoon, July 25, 2008, but ...drumroll please....when it was run for the first and only time on Sunday morning the exact same result/problem occurred. Again let me stress that Home Depot is probably kicking themselves for ever having taken on this awful LG product line, and relatively cheerfully under these circumstances refunded me the entire purchase price of $1,091.44 on Monday afternoon. We purchased a Bosch replacement one hour later and it is being installed this afternoon. Clearly, LG has a design and or service problem, and pretending they are unaware of it is ludicrous.
