Good Points

Well-organized, well-written with screenshot illustrations that are easy to follow, accurate information, and up-to-date for the latest version of Ubuntu 8.05 Long Term Support.

General Comments

Beginning Ubuntu Linux: From Novice to Professional is highly recommended for anyone interested in installing the latest & greatest version of Ubuntu, Hardy Heron. The authors have obviously invested a lot of time & testing in the writing of this book, the information is accurate and complete for the average user to get the most out of their Ubuntu experience. I purchased Edition One when I first started using Ubuntu over 2 years ago and it proved an invaluable resource in learning how to use Ubuntu.
The Third Edition of "Beginning Ubuntu Linux" was released in June 2008 and is completely up-to-date for Ubuntu 8.04, which is the best version of Ubuntu to date. If you want to have a choice of an operating system, without worrying about spyware, trojans, viruses, or other malware, this book and Ubuntu Linux are for you.
