Good ambiance, friendly staff, attractive modern decor.

General Comments

My husband and I ate here in July 2008. I had read one glowing review on the restaurant and had high hopes for the standard of cuisine, however I was a little disappointed.

We both had starters and main courses and they were both fairly average - I had smoked salmon with salad (brown edges had not been removed) and he had moules mariniere which were very small and the sauce tasted mainly of wine with not much other flavour. Our main courses were okay, him game, me fish, but the veg were overcooked and so was my fish (halibut steak). The accompanying sauces were very good, creamy mushroom for him and turmeric for me. The overall presentation of the food was a little 'dated'(paprika sprinkles on the edges of the plate and rather large portions.

The ambiance is great as is the decor and the staff are efficient and very friendly and I would visit again for this reason.
