Sound quality is excellent, Can store about 8,000 mp3 files which should be ample for most folks, can encode directly from any source with an earphone socket, without the need for a pc, although you do need a PC if you want to name them. i converted all my vinyl's with it, great player !!! It did freeze occasionally when I first had it [which is about 5 years now,] but I downloaded a different firmware which solved the problem 5,323 is the firmware version I now use, Multi - Chanel Labs now dont seem to support it now so if I need new leads or charger etc, I might have trouble. Generally very good player, excellent sound, solid , strong , well built, a bit big by todays standards but suits me fine,
