Good Points

Very good hotel, basic but clean, would recommend especially to families with young children.

Bad Points

Room decor a little tired but clean.

General Comments

The rooms at the Thomas Cook's Explorers Hotel are basic but all you need ie: clean bedding, towels changed daily and room cleaned daily, hairdryer, tv and tea/coffee making facilities. We had a crew room for 5 of us, it slept 6 comfortably. Disabled room had double bed, double sofa bed and add on room with bunks and tv. Overall rooms are a little tired looking but for the time spent in them who cares? The public areas of the hotel are clean, good pool area and great facilities for younger children (mine are all teens so played pool and in the arcade) breakfast is your usual continental with hot optional at extra cost.. buffet breakfast included melon, oranges, yogurt, creme caramel, salad, cheese, cereals, bread rolls, croissants, pain au chocolat, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, fruit juices.... we found this to be quite ample and everything was fresh.

We also dined in the Plantation (where breakfast is served) we had the all you can eat buffet at 22.50 euro's per person... there was a good selection of hot and cold foods including, salmon, roast beef, spaghetti bolognaise, hotdogs in buns, fries, potatoes, chicken nuggets, ham, salad, peas, cauliflower cheese and more, plus a good selection of desserts and unlimited soft drinks.

Staff were very helpful although some friendlier than others. Shuttle buses for parks were regular and never crowded from hotel to Disney as the Explorer Hotel is the first on the route, also first drop off on return from parks. As we have a wheelchair user in our group I only had to ask at reception for the free shuttle minibus with ramp and it arrived within 5-10 mins, returning from parks the minibus staff were based at our bustop and promptly escorted us onto the minibus to return to the hotel... We found this extremely helpful as getting around on public transport isn't always easy with a wheelchair.

All in all I would have given 10/10 if the room decor hadn't looked so tired but would definitely use this hotel again.
