Looks, weight, trigger, blueing etc etc.
Barrel would take a squillion years to clean if used straight after eating a fish supper but that would be silly right?
My first Air Arms rifle and I'm very impressed. I am happy with the .177 classic with the beech stock which produces more than enough power for the small quarry here in Scotland. I have lost that crazy velocity/power bug where every extra FPS running through my chrono is an achievement and a good find as far as pellets go. It is similiar to young guys trying to eek an extra 5 BHP out of their puddle jumper cars with the addition of cherry bomb exhausts or fuel additives, the manufacturers love it. I'm not knocking the hobby as its very addictive and fun, but don't just go for a gun because it produces another 1-2 ft/lb's out of the box but, get a comfortable gun with good accuracy, build quality, and above all a good reputation after being tried and tested. Bisley magnums produce around 715fps at 11.8ft/lbs on my rifle and the kill on rabbits, hares etc is quick and powerful. Pointed Air Arms pellets for crows, pigeons etc are the best in my rifle also. I would reccommend drying your rifle if caught in a shower to protect that gorgeous blueing and stock, and (responsibly) dont put it straight into the bag or case if wet but let it breathe for a bit. After I picked up a dent on the stock I used a damp tea towel and the tip of a hot iron and it came out with very good results. A very capable gun and fitted with the right silencer quiet as a mouse with slippers on. I'm Happy as a clam with it.
