Good Points

They offered 0% for a period to start with.


Bad Points

We'd taken the card with 0% in order to spread the cost of buying furniture when we bougt our first house. However, despite a good joint income and perfect credit records, they would only give us £500 limit which was pretty useless. I tried to up it after a year, never having defaulted and they said they could only extend it to £800.


General Comments

VERY short payment period, so like the other reviewer I've been stung when my payment hasn't reached there in time, although always pay off in full, and attempt in time. My payment failed this month due to a change to my online banking (not TESCO), and I received a letter regarding my default sent on the same day that the payment was due, adding a charge to my account. I contacted them the same evening at abou 5.30pm and explained I thought it ought to have been paid, but I would contact my bank to see what had happened. I had a text the next morning at 8.20am saying they had tried on numerous occasions to contact me and that I had to ring them urgently. I rang the number and it turned out to be their collections department. They advised that my details had been updated the night before regarding my call, and I suggested that it was unreasonable to send a text straight off, considering I had actually replied to their one letter. The telephonist told me that 'if you owe us money, we will keep contacting you'. I had organised another transfer to pay in full last night, but I have now closed my card.
