Broadband OK but they don't seem able to set up email accounts that work.
Parts of the service Virgin Media offered me never worked. Virgin Media promise to phone me - but as far as I know they never did. Call centre not very helpful in my experience and they just read from scripts it seemed.
After being connected to Virgin Media services on 16 July 2008, I CANCELLED all the Virgin Media services 8 days later:
1. After everything was installed, Virgin Media did not activate my broadband for over 18 hours.
2. In 8 days, I have made numerous phone calls to the Virgin Technical Support because the email address they gave me seemed to not work. My telephone calls were invariably routed to their call centre but apart from the difficulty in understanding, the staff there just read from scripts in my opinion, promise they will resolve the issue, not yet been done. So I have to ring the Virgin technical support the following day and then it all starts again. The average length of my calls was around 18 minutes. Because of the issues, I often had to make two calls a day.
3. For 7 days their Selfcare system (which maintains all the Virgin customer account details) was down. So that was the main reason why they could not set me up with an email address that worked. But when the Selfcare system was up and running again, Virgin Media found another reason for not being able to get my email address to work!
4. In more than 8 days, Virgin were simply unable to port my BT number over to the Virgin telephone line.
So, during those awful 8 days I got absolutely fed up up with the service - or rather the lack of it from Virgin Media. Only the broadband was good, but the TV was not as good as Sky (particularly the programme guide - which with Virgin is all all black and dark green).
So I have gone back to Sky and to my former ISP and everything now works WONDERFULLY! Something that Virgin Media simply seems unable to do for me?
