Large Duty Fee with competitive pricing
Cannot greet visitors unless all parties are outside. Up to 2.5 hours to move through passport control (consistently). Unfriendly staff
Dubai International is still undergoing renovations, and has been for the last 4 years. The airport is quick to boast of large increases in the number of travellers, however virtually nothing has been done to the facilities to ease passenger congestion queuing, the lacks of seats, the lack of toilets or the overall cleanliness of the airport. It is unlikely that the new airport facility will be ready in the next 4 years, despite what the Govt of the land says.
Visitors waiting to greet passengers arriving must wait behind a barricade where guests cannot be greeted until all parties venture outside into the parking lot - strangest most unfriendly design of an airport I have ever seen.
