Service.
Old Aircraft.
I have always liked monarch. I don't know if we have just been lucky, hearing some of the reviews here. Nearly all the Monarch flights I have been on have gone without incident. However we were coming home from Lanzarote, the doors had closed on time etc, and we were ready to depart. The pilot then decided to use a different runway to take-off on, resulting in a 45min delay on the tarmac. He then decided to use the runway all the other planes where using, only to find out we had to burn off fuel for another 25mins. So we took off an hour late due to a poor judgement from the pilot. The seats where very uncomfortable, and the film (ocean's 13) was unwatchable due to our headphone volume being permanently set on ultra high. At least on the return journey we had a place to plug headphones into, our outbound aircraft having an apparent lack of headphone sockets.
