General Comments
My girlfriend and I were thrilled when we first found MegaBus through the hotel. We needed to get from Toronto to Buffalo Airport and didn't want to rent a car so we checked out bus options. At $15 per person Megabus seemed too good to be true and unfortunately it was.
We arrived at the back of the Royal York Hotel 45 minutes before the schedule departure and couldn't find anyone from Megabus and the other customers were all waiting for other buses. We called the customer service number but they weren't open or weren't answering so we got a recording that confirmed the departure location. The departure time came and went so I called back and after 10 minutes on hold, finally got someone who let me know I was given the wrong location when I booked with the customer service representative. The 9am bus leaves from the Royal York, but the 7:50am leaves from the bus terminal. We had a 12:15pm flight that we were going to miss so in the end we had to rent a car last minute which cost me $250.
Two weeks later I'm still trying to get a refund for our lousy $30 and the manager won't return my calls.
If I had internet access during our trip I could have found the correct information but we didn't. It's a great idea to help save the planet while saving money, but beware!
