Good Points
The staff tries VERY hard. If it weren't for them I would say it was definitely the worst I have ever been on. I am not sure how fair it is to compare the Nile cruise ships with Princess, Royal Carribean and Celebrity all of which I have been on.
Bad Points
I think the boat needs a major over-haul. It seems to me that it has not been maintained very well. It is dirty but not filthy. For instance: The duct work in our room was black including the walls around it. Lampshades on the room were all worn and shabby. The TV needed a big clean to get rid of the grime from many fingers. The pool area was clean. The pads on the chaise chairs were stained. Wallpapers are curling at the edges in some places. We teased and said the boat "shows love".
General Comments
We were on the Tower Prestige July 9-11, 2008. It was hot. The food wasn't horrible. Just basic food for a small ship. No-one got sick. There were about 40 of us on the cruise. As we cruised ours appeared from the outside one of the nicest. There are worse. The beds and pillows were not bad. We have been on Princess boats heading for the first port to find pillows. At least these were OK. The housekeeping staff were very good. Maintained our room several times a day and always left fun surprises with the towels. The dining staff were very efficient. I could tell that all of the employees cared and because of that it made all the others problems with the boat disappear. I would say this is a 2-3 star in the US with a 5 star being the best.
