Quick and easy connection
Everything else
I switched to Talk Talk from BT landline and Orange broadband on 4th July 2008 and almost immediately, I realised what a mistake I'd personally made.
The connection was very quick and easy and that is the only good thing I can say about Talk Talk.
They didn't include everything I thought I would receive in the deal, and later just said, sorry.
Their customer service and technical support I feel has been unhelpful.
My download speed is 523 Kbps, while quality of service is 16% and that is on a good day. Some days I can't connect at all, while on other days, I can't keep the connection for more than a few seconds, which is terrifying, when I am in process of internet banking.
They overcharged me on my first bill it seems, so I had to ring their customer service again to amend.
I wrote two letters of complaint, to which I have not yet had a reply.
Today, which is Saturday, I tried to contact their customer service just after 17.00, but was told that the lines are now closed, because the weekend service is available only until 18.00. You can draw your own conclusions.
I could go on.
I realised, that if it was so difficult for me to get any satisfaction from Talk Talk now, during the one month trial period, it will be impossible during the rest of the 18 month contract and I will end up pulling all my hair out.
So, I rang BT and asked them to re-connect my landline, signed up with them for the next 12 months. They will attend to cancellation of my Talk Talk package, while I am shopping for a more reliable broadband (I don't care quite so much about the speed). It means, unfortunately, that I will be without the broadband for a few weeks.
If you value your health and don't want the hassle, keep away from Talk Talk.
I do not recommend Talk Talk.co.uk
