With a new DVD writer, it works like a dream.
Bad Points
Getting it to fit.
General Comments
I replaced the DVD writer in mine with a Liteon 20X new unit. It's easy enough to get it to work, but slightly more difficult to get it to fit well, mechanically. My Liteon 5045 will now burn a complete movie in about 5 - 6 minutes, and now seems to accept just about any disk. A fair amount of pain getting to this point though.
