Good Points

I cannot say enough good things about discoverenglandtours.co.uk but the most helpful thing for an inexperienced traveller was that they arranged transfer to Church House from Heathrow so that we were met coming off the plane. As part of our package they handled all of our travel around Dorset. We would not have been comfortable renting a car and taking off on our own--nor would we have known where to go and what to see in an efficient way. Church House was a wonderful home away from home, the rooms were immaculate and tastefully decorated and the meals were delicious, with fresh fruits and vegetables from the extensive garden. The hosts were gracious and made us feel very welcome.

Bad Points

I had the perfect vacation at Church House in every respect--there was not anything that could have been done differently or better.

General Comments

Church House was a wonderful place for a reunion for four old friends. We saw so much in just a few days--Salisbury and its breathtaking cathedral, Bath, Stonehenge, Laycock Abbey, Wilton House, and the spectacular coastline of the English Channel. Our time was our own with a large touring car and a very helpful guide to take us wherever we wanted to go and pick us up when we were ready for the next stop. No hassles with driving or parking. Also, the hosts were very good at helping us plan our outings so that we were able to see several sites each day. My favourite part of the trip, though, was just staying in the lovely Church House, enjoying the flower gardens, walking the footpaths around Shillingstone and meeting some of the people in that charming village. We had considered taking a bus tour of England, but when we passed tour buses, we were so glad that we had our own private touring car, and that our first experience of England was at Church House. I could not recommend this vacation more highly.
