The Tutors let you get on with it in your own time
Call centre staff
So I signed up to do the Home Learning College course and received a pack containing a box with Units 2-6 inside. No explanation and no book 1. I call my tutor to complain who explains that there should have been 2 packs of stuff and book 1 is in the missing pack (apparently a lot of people have had this problem). I tell her that my address was incorrect on the pack I did receive so she corrects this for me. I then phone the call centre (although the number originally given no longer works) and tell them to resend pack 1.
1 week later and still no pack, so I call Home Learning College back to complain. Apparently they had my address down wrong still. They corrected it and rearranged delivery. The next day I get a call from a City Link driver asking me where I live as the parcel he has is just addressed to my name and mobile phone number (this could be City Link's fault though?) Anywho, I get the pack and read through Unit 1 which mentions things like a blue envelope with first assignment, a cd, pen and paper and things like that.......that clearly aren't there. So yet again I phone back and am assured this will be sent to me.
1 week later and I call the staff to find out where this is - unsurprisingly City Link can't find me as Home Learning College still has my address down wrong!! 5 days later and still no pack, so I call yet again and am told the pack will be delivered today. I was put on hold as the girl said she was going to double check the delivery - but she just put me through to City Link who say they can't check as I have no consignment number.
I am finding the workbooks fairly easy to work through although I find sections can be misleading. On parts I am supposed to fill in, the boxes are very small but the model answers are generally 4 times the size. I have also noticed spelling errors and missing images throughout the books.
The only reason I chose Home Learning College is that I couldn't find another provider doing the course I needed. There is no way I would use them again.
