Good Points

They look cheap on paper, which would be fine if they provided a half decent service, but it's a false economy as the service is so unbelievably bad.


Bad Points

Service - Dixons clearly manage to offer such cheap products on the promise of being able to deliver them within a few days, but in my case they did not have the delivery capabilities to support this so they simply didn't deliver the items and then come up with various excuses in the hope that you won't complain as you're paying so little.


General Comments

Unbelievably bad service. I do not recommend ordering anything from Dixons online unless they are the only people on earth who sell the item you need. About a year ago I ordered a plasma TV and it took 4 attempts for them to deliver it (a variety of excuses ensued from confusion, mix ups at warehouse etc). Despite my irritation at the time I actually managed to forget how bad Dixons online were until my partner recently found a good deal for a DVD/surround sound system with Dixons online. It was only when the order started going wrong that the full horror of the last experience came back to me.

My recent delivery (for the DVD and sound system) was scheduled for between 5-8pm. My partner came home early, waited for 3 hours, but no delivery. At that point we checked online (eventually found Business Post's address - the delivery company) and found an online tracking system. Allegedly they tried to deliver at 4.59pm (not even technically within the specified delivery slot) but noone was in! This was moderately comical but quite insulting as my partner was there from 4.30. Following a fairly stroppy email to Dixons, and my suggestion that their delivery firm never came round and just knocked off early, Dixons emailed me (to their credit) to admit that following their own investigations it was apparent that the delivery company had made no attempt to deliver it! Anyway, it just went from bad to worse and I still don't have the item two weeks later - as such I have agreed to pick it up from the warehouse myself. Don't waste you time - buy it from somewhere else.
