Extremely descriptive and intriguing characters. This book plays off the mystery of the gunslinger and his quest and captivates the reader from the start.
It was written originally as an excerpt, so it doesn't really work as a stand alone piece, which sometimes frustrates readers.
This is a fantastic book to start a fantastic series. What's challenging about it is that much of it sets up Books 2, 3 and 4 and some readers want more instant gratification in their read.
