They eventully got me home.
Have had to wait over 3hrs for them and then they wrongly diagnose the fault.
Unfortunately, I have had to rely on the RAC a few times and have never been satisfied.
On one occasion, my car wouldnt start and it took me 20 mins to explain where I was as I hadn't been to the area before, despite the RAC claims that they can find out where you are by your mobile phone. Even then I ended up pushing the car to a main road so that I would be found.
It took over 3 hours for them to come out to me so in the meantime I checked conections ect. When they finally arrived, I was moaned at for having touched part of the car myself (well if they didnt take 3hrs, I wouldnt have), he then spent about 45 mins messing about with a multi meter and scratching his head before telling me it was the starter motor.
He then bump started the car and I was left knowing little more than if I swtch the engine off, the car cuts out or stalls then it wont start again and they will prob not come out to me again as they have already come out to that fault, not what you want on a 2hr drive!
Upon the advice of the RAC, I changed the starter motor myself at the cost of £120 only to discover that it wasnt at fault and the fault was a £3 battery clamp.
I have had other problems with the RAC but I dont have time to go into them now.
Overall, I'm very pleased that my membership has now expired and I have gone with GEM after reading reviews on here at a fraction of the cost.
