My girlfriend decided to do an ICS course for a Nail Technician as she was wanting to get a job in a nail bar. She went to the ICS website and looked at the course and saw that it said it could give her the qualification that would enable her to get a job as a Nail Technician. She looked at the ICS website and found that the course was currently 50% off. The price was now £269.50 down from £539. The website stated that you can pay in easy monthly installments so my girlfriend decided to pay this way. She was surprised to find that the price had reverted back to £539. She was told that this was because you must pay the full amount instead of paying by installments. This was not stated on their website. So she then had to agree to pay £269.50 outright to get the offer price. When her course arrived she was disappointed to find that it looked as though it had been word for word copied from the textbook that they also sent her. The materials they sent her to practice on seemed of a very poor quality and nothing like what a Nail Technician would use. When she graduated she took her diploma to our local nail bar and was told by the owner that this diploma was not sufficient on its own for her to be given a job. She then e-mailed ICS with what the Nail Bar owner said and their reply stated that the course was NOT ACCREDITED. But she was certain that the website and course guide leaflet tell you when you graduate you will receive an accredited qualification.
