Good Points

Superb macro. Very high image quality. Compact Flash Type 1
support. Ease of use. Excellent build quality.

Bad Points

Poor red-eye reduction. Ugly design. Poor low-light focusing.
High purchase price.

General Comments

I recently purchased the CoolPix 990 digital camera and have not regretted the purchase. It's done all I needed it to do and more. The
pics I've managed to take with this camera makes me look
like a semi-pro. Plus the plethora of 3rd party accessories
available adds to the satisfaction levels. I would highly
recommend this camera to a beginner who has the budget as
