General Comments

I purchased the new Nissan Navara (my only vehicle) in Aug 2005 and have had problems with it ever since. I am just about to go through 100,000 miles and I can honestly say there has never been a day when it has been 100% fully functional! Local dealers use the term 'goodwill' in regard to their warranty work. To date it has had, 5 clutches, 3 turbo's, 2 sets of half shafts, 3 radios, a temp gauge (that was actually pilfered from another Navara on the forecourt in front of me!), 3 reversing light switches, complete gearbox rebuild, new differential and transmission seals and a complete new diff. During recent works (new gearbox, yet another clutch and rental vehicle = £4000.00) mechanics snagged the towing electric cable across the exhaust causing it to melt through, blowing all the fuses. Nissan attempted to mend it but there were still some wires unconnected. When I protested I was told by the service manager (in front of the dealer principal) that the damage was not their fault and it was my word against theirs and by mending it so far they had 'done me a favour'! The dealer principal then told me that my business was no longer welcome there and not to return. The whole experience has left me disgusted with Nissan. It has been off the road for at least 7 months and easily cost me over £10,000.00 in unforeseen costs and lost finance. Nissan and their Navara have been blight on my life and mind for the past three years and has left me financially and (if I'm honest,) emotionally drained. I have finally given up, sold it and bought a Toyota, as life with a Nissan is just not worth the hassle.
