Used their service for many years and was generally happy but I think individual branches are only as good as their staff.
General Comments
My son recently had an appointment for a contact lens trial. The optician apparently tried to dissuade him and suggested he wore the glasses he was prescribed last year though he was unhappy with them. She reluctantly showed him how to put in lens but seemed to be demonstrating how to remove them (I've been wearing lens for over 30 years and know the basics). She appeared to have extreme difficulty in fitting them and prescribed a lens which she described as the lowest priced in their range at £30 per month - a local optician fits the same lens for £20.
To make matters worse, the optician conducted a brief eye test and found the records she had on screen did not tally with the test results. She concluded that they had the wrong records and that his existing pair of glasses, obtained from Leightons, had been incorrectly prescribed.
On the way out, the receptionist asked for his date of birth - they had the right day and year but the wrong month. Needless to say he won't be going back.
