The layout of the course and the overall space make Gay Hill an extremley tight course. With Narrow fairways and almost all hole tree lined the premium is on accuracy. However if you are very wide then the punishment is reduced.
Unfortuantley the standard of the course have dropped considerably this year, with the greens being inconistant, untrue and patchy. The greens are very firm making spinning of the ball extremely difficult. The bunkers have always been inconsistant and the bunker program of a few years ago has been forgotten.
Unfortuantley, this is not the course that it was a few years ago. But with some loving attention it will return to a tricky and punishing course
