Bride Be Lovely, Manchester - I will start at the beginning.... tried and ordered the dress on before Christmas and yes, when I went in the staff seemed really helpful and the dresses offered value for money (mine costing under six hundred pounds). But that is where I feel the good times ceased! I was originally told that I would get a call to let me know when my dress was in, all I got was the final invoice through the post asking me for the balance. I then rung up to check the dress was there as I have read in other reviews it took them ages to locate the paper work etc.. and the woman I spoke to was unable to find out if my dress was in. I was told to ring up about a month before for a fitting which I did. At first all seemed rosy with the fitting with the seamstress saying there would be no problem taking off the train at the back and then leaving the front as it was as it was the right length. Off I went expecting my next visit a week later to be a try the dress on and then arrange to pick it up at the weekend. Oh how wrong I was, the seam at the back was puckered and some had been taken off the front and the sewing had made this pucker too! I was assured that this could be sorted and to come back to pick the dress up next week. Luckily on my return I tried the dress on and it was still puckered, nightmare, the seamstress was not there but the lady in the shop said that it should have been steamed and this would make it hang right. I have been to pick the dress up today (now the day before the wedding due to all the to-ing and fro-ing) have got it home and - yes it may hang a bit better but the seams are still puckered round the hem, there are dirty marks round the bottom and an area near the bottom where it appears to have got a bit too dirty to leave and now there is what looks like a water mark on it instead where it seems they have removed, or tried to remove one of the dirty marks! Anyway I am writing this to vent some of my stress as not much else can do about the dress now - Anyone who reads this I would not recommend you get your dress altered by this shop! As a final thought the really nice lady who served me originally in the shop no longer seems to work there which is a shame as I would have rated them a couple of points as she was so helpful.
