Works well with Macintosh
Fastly deteriorating connection quality/speed.
I've been with Demon for several years now, they were recommended to me at a time when there was a real differentiation between ISPs that would work well with PC or Mac. They had a competitive price, and were reasonably quick to get connected, especially as they rely on you to do some of the work. They're customer service was pretty good; they even increased the bandwidth of their broadband package without a price increase.
Unfortunately, the connection speed has dropped significantly in the past year, from an average of 4MB to sometimes less than 900K; it rarely gets above 1MB. I've been told that this is my fault for not staying connected, which seems like a fairly disingenuous reason for such a failure. And if this is about higher use of broadband in my area, haven't they a duty or business reason to ensure that their bandwidth competes with others?
Overall, service is normally available, but I would avoid.
